Polycystic liver disease, especially non parasitic cyst of the liver is rare disease and usually hardly diagnosed on clinical back ground only. Etiological factors and its mechanism of polycystic liver is not clearly understood but association with cysts of other organs such as kidney, pancreas and spleen is well known.
We experienced one case of congenital. Polycystic liver in 42 year old Korean woman who was admitted with Rt. upper quadrant mass and discomfort of 3 years duration.
Chemical liver function tests including B.S.P. showed no abnormal findings but we suspected preoperatively the polycystic disease of liver through various studies such as liver scan, liver aspiration, percutaneous transhepatic cystogram, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography and confirmed operativley, so we report this case here with review the literatures of polycystic disease of the liver.
